B&W negative copied in 1990 from official albums then held at Grangemouth refinery.
Candles and a range of wax products, were produced in great quantities by Young's company at Addiewell and the Broxburn company at Broxburn. This view, probably of Broxburn Candleworks, shows twelve double bed machines for casting nightlights. Each bed produces 128 wax plugs for nightlights which were then fitted in card or aluminium pots and a wick inserted. These night lights are being produced on adapted candle making frames. Note that unlike candle production, there are no continuous wicks running through the mould from spools below the casting bed.
