Has an ink stamp on top right hand corner of front cover which reads "The Institution of Mechanical Engineers 31st May 1946". Item No. 30 / File No. XV-2. The front cover also reads 'This report is issued with the warning that, if the subject matter should be protected by British Patents or Patent applications, this publication cannot be held to give any protection against any action for infringement'. Combined Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee, London - H.M. Stationary Office. 44 page report with 14 appendices at the back, one of which depicts cross sections of a diagram of a Pumpherston Retort.
