Black and white photograph of the inauguration of BPs Magnus Oilfield by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Margaret Thatcher, M.P., at Britannic House, London. Mrs Thatcher admires a replica, fibre-glass bust of Dr. James 'Paraffin' Young, pioneer of the oil industry (the centenary of whose death was celebrated in 1983) which was presented by BP to No. 10 Downing Street, following the inauguration ceremony.
