Digital copy of sepia photograph of a pub in Harthill, Bertrams Pub. 3rd from the left is William Dyer who was a shale miner in West Lothian who went to Australia in circa 1885. William Dyer (born circa 1850s) moved to Australia in his 30s c.1885) to work at shale mine in Joadja Creek. Returned to Scotland and continued to work in the Scottish Shale industry. Donor is William Dyers granddaughter. William Dyer also appears in a reference collection image R10-00199 and is in the far left, sitting in the front row.
