B&W negative copied in 1990 from official albums then held at Grangemouth refinery.
One of a number of underground images and film recorded for promotional purposes in about 1929 at Westwood pit. See also LVSAV2019.093 and LVSAV2019.095 .This view shows the working face after charges had been detonated. The miner is using his pick to prise off loose blocks and break up large lumps, whilst his drawer loads this into hutches.
