Kepskaith (lands)

The lands of Kepskaith are within the coalfield district. There were no pits or mines within the lands, however coal seams may have been worked at depth from nearby pits. The land to the west of the burn was excavated and coal worked by opencast methods as part of the Heartlands project in c.2010. The 1870's mineral map records that the land was owned by Mrs. Gibson, but the mineral rights, at that time, were not let.
