Tenantsmarch is described in the 1852 OS name book as "A small farm house with offices and a small arable farm attached; - the property of Peter McLeod and presently occupied by Archd. Henderson.

Annotation on 1870's plan as land owned by Batholomew Esq. - Minerals let to Young's Oil Co.

Dated 15th & 23rd May 1936. - relating to part of lands of Breichmill, Burnhouse, Tennants March and Clovenfordykes. Dated 15th & 23rd May 1936, the lease covers properties totalling 36.486 acres close to the Breich Water. A 1:2500 scale plan, titled This is the plan referred to accompanies the document. It shows the areas leased in green, the public road in buff, the ands of Burnhouse edged in blue, and the lands of Tenants March edged in red.
